Northwoods Homeless Shelters is blessed with a host of volunteers–both individuals and groups–that help us with various projects. Below are some recent group projects that provided some very needed assistance to our program.

Partnership House Second Floor Renovation

In 2015, a number of different groups worked to give the second-floor efficiency unit a much-needed upgrade.  A group of Amery High School students moved furniture into storage and then the East Immanuel Lutheran Church Men in Mission painted and laid linoleum.  Slumberland donated linoleum and carpet for this project.  Stone Creek Custom Interiors sold us new cabinets at cost.

You can see from the pictures below that the project was a huge success.  Thanks, everyone, for all your help!  Because of you, our families have a wonderful place to stay.

Partnership House First Floor

In the summer of 2015, B & J Interiors painted the entire first-floor unit of the emergency shelter.

The floors that were original to the house were not in good shape.  They no longer had anything on them that would protect the surface and extend their life.  We had them refinished and found out that we have maple flooring in the living room and oak flooring in the hallway and bedrooms.

Adults and youth from the Amery Congregational Church moved all the furniture back into the unit and assembled the beds.  It looks great!!!
